Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet, cut side up.
In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, oregano, and dried basil until well combined.
Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
Bake the bread in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until it’s lightly toasted and the edges are crisp.
While the bread is toasting, in a mixing bowl, combine the halved cherry tomatoes, quartered mozzarella balls, chopped fresh basil, salt, and pepper. Toss gently to combine.
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and pile the tomato and mozzarella mixture generously on top of each half.
Return the bread to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Optional: Remove from the oven and drizzle with balsamic glaze for an extra burst of flavor.
Slice into pieces and serve warm.
Notes
Arrange slices on a wooden board or platter, and garnish with whole basil leaves for a fresh and inviting look.
